Hi, I'm Wessel van Berkel:

UX Designer & Researcher

I'm currently based in Utrecht. Specializes in concept
creation and human centered design.

Koninklijke Bibliotheek

The koninklijke bibliotheek (The royal library of The Hague) is one of the most presteen libraries in The Netherlands. I was projectleader of a group, including myself and four others. We researched their target audience with the end goal of making this particular group, read more literairy works.

We ended the project by delivering a high-fid prototype, made to combine the effects of modern day cinema with literature.

Whilst working at E-Flux I was put in charge of the full branding and website creation of a new proposition. This proposition was called "Road.io". A SaaS based company which specialized in e-mobility charging software.

The software would be used by other companies to manage their internal EV fleet. They were looking for a modern and clean branding which would fit with their view on e-mobility. Click the button below to read about the proces and see the results.

Usability testing

With almost all my projects I have utilized usability testing to make sure my designs and prototypes were as user friendly as possible and were perfectly aligned with the eventual goal of said design.

Team leading

Considering I have lead half of the projects I was a part of I can safely say that I know my way around team management. Keeping morale high, whilst steering everyone in the right direction to make sure we meet our deadlines and have an end result that everyone can be proud of.

Creative thinking

Creative thinking is in my blood. As a kid I was always the one that found creative ways to resolve problems or overcome obstacles. This translates to my creative thinking power. Creative and innovative ways of problem solving are the aspects of my designing that I feel like I stand out in.
